What is Springs & Wire Forming?
Wire forming is a method which applies force to change the contour of a wire. The process starts with coiled wire that is straightened before being formed. The forming methods include bending, swaging, chamfering, and shearing. The techniques for wire forming can produce a wide variety of shapes, forms, and configurations. This process is used to form springs and other parts from extruded metal wire. There are varying types of equipment to complete wire forming between manual crafting to advanced CNC programmable machines.
