Vevex believes that appropriate use of Internet-based distributed computing technology is the key to significant quality improvements, costs reductions and customer convenience enhancements. Vevex intends to aggressively apply this technology. Rod Russell, President and CEO Rod brings extensive experience to the leadership of Vevex Corporation. Built on Schlumberger wireless handheld device the solution combines real-time electronic credit card authorization and electronic draft capture with Interac-compliant debit card acceptance, and knits it into existing business systems with web-based reporting. The system has been certified by the Interac consortium and is currently deployed in hundreds of taxis in Montreal, Toronto and other centers. At Vevex Rod draws on a lifetime of experience as an innovator, visionary, motivator and coordinator in launching new projects and ventures. As assistant general manger of the First Arctic Winter Games he formulated much of the policy that has shaped this international biannual circumpolar athletic event, and was instrumental in recruiting and building the volunteer host infrastructure. As coordinator for the first three years of Folk on the Rocks Music Festival in Yellowknife, Rod communicated a vision to his community and rallied it to the huge effort required to make the event an ongoing reality.
