The SST Corporation was started in 1957 when Charles E. Scott started a manufacturer's representative firm selling ferrous materials to the steel and automotive industries. By 1974 he had established a small bearing distributorship in Cincinnati. The company expanded to the machining of ferrous and aluminum castings in 1996, and began making conveyor rollers and components in 1998. In 2006 SST expanded production in China to produce bearings, stampings, and machined castings. The operations were relocated to Vietnam in 2012, and further expanded to include a foundry pouring grey and ductile iron castings on an automatic Sinto line. Recently, SST has relocated and expanded its production in the USA with a manufacturing division, located on the SST Corporation campus in Cincinnati, Ohio.
