SMF, Inc. was founded in Minonk, Illinois in 1972 as a full-service metal manufacturing facility servicing the construction, power generation, agriculture, and mining industries. A new facility was built, and SMF expanded into a full-service fabrication and machining facility with more than 140,000 square feet. In 2013, SMF added a facility in Anderson, South Carolina.
