In 2002, Larry and Ellen Prewitt purchased the current 116,000 sq. ft. facility at 150 Division Drive for the purpose of fabricating commercial metal products for the building industry-initially small commercial metal buildings. Bill Dries was the first employee of this new company (Metal Cad Steel Framing, Inc.) As the business plan developed, the strategy changed to be more focused on Larry's previous experience of Custom Metal Doors and Frames for commercial application. With the addition of Steve Webb, Mark Velthoven and other key shop employees, it was decided to test the waters and Custom Metal Products (a DBA of Metal Cad Steel Framing Systems) was formed. Over the years, our growth can be directly attributed to the ingenuity andpersistence of these people along withtheir belief in offering quality products and quality service. In May of 2003, the first order was taken. As our customer volume grew, an overhead conveyor and paint line was installed and then two S4 CNC punching lines. In 2013our first automated laser with steel storage tower was added to provide a high level of service for our steadily increasing number of customers. At the roots of our 13-year history is a philosophy of hard work and dependability.Our reputation supports our ability to attract loyal customers, employees and partners.
