CORPORATE PROFILE I-ENG-A® of the Tri-County Area is the forensic division of Innovative Design Engineering, a privately held engineering design and manufacturing company. This division is dedicated to Professional Claims Support, offering comprehensive consulting services to the property and casualty insurance industry including adjusters, risk managers, litigation, government and private clients. Innovative Design Engineering (IDE) was started in 1975 by Herbert DeFriez for the specific purpose of designing, developing and fabricating specialty equipment for the air sampling and monitoring industry. Additionally, he became a Professional Engineer to pursue forensic investigations in a number of disciplines. Thirty five years later, IDE utilizes its extensive accumulated experience to solve difficult origin and cause investigations and to provide durable, field serviceable test equipment that minimizes maintenance time and cost. Through its extensive supply of vendors and its in-house machine shop, IDE can supply all required air sampling system components, from rugged sample transport and conditioning hardware to fully automated microcontroller driven instrumentation. IDE can manufacture one-of-a-kind specialty equipment or can modify standard equipment to provide the optimum system for each individual application. IDE also specializes in providing timely solutions to OC investigations. Mr. DeFriez is a court-tested expert witness in corrosion related failure accident reconstruction and principal investigator for explosion fire, product design defects, mold and moisture, metallurgical issues and failures associated with chemicals. The success of this approach is confirmed by the firm's continually growing list of satisfied clients and a corresponding high occurrence of repeat and referral business. The reputation of IDE continues to be founded on producing our projects on schedule, imaginatively, accurately, and reflecting "state of the art" design and within budget regarding capital cost vs. operational cost. Our clients can be assured of quality, function, efficiency and economy as the keystones of each project. A team of our experienced personnel and/or consultants is assembled specifically for each project, headed by our principal engineer thus giving personal and vested interest to the needs of our clients. We have also been recognized for our ability to excel in design, notable items listed below: Designed and sold commercially first US Peltier Sample Gas Conditioner and first probe tip calibratable Sample Gas Probe (1983). Developed tested TRS analyzer based on Loop Dilution Sampling System (1986). Designed sold a NG fired, computer operated Turbocharger Test Stand (1989). Invented patented an analytical test method (1971), stack gas Water Monitor (1992) and an Inertial Filter Probe (2004) Designed sold a five gas, microcontroller based Sample Gas Flow Panel and a three gas, microcontroller based Medical Gas Analyzer (1995). Designed sold a 10 channel, catalytic bead Hydrocarbon Analyzer and a temp. and CO based Carbon Bed Fire Detection System (1995) Designed sold a totally automatic, microcontroller based Mini-CEMSä (1996). IDE has established its forensic engineering division to provide Insurance Companies with a means to professionally handle their claim's Investigative Services needs with the production of a brief, concise, easy-to-read report delivered on schedule and in a cost-effective manner.
