Impresa Aerospace, LLC is a leading sheet metal forming, precision CNC machining, and bench top assembly manufacturer. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, along with two other manufacturing facilities in Wichita, Kansas, and Charleston, South Carolina our business has served the aerospace, industrial, and medical industries for over 50 years; delivering complex structures and components for virtually every aerospace platform - including commercial, regional and business aircraft, military transports, fighter jets and helicopters.
It would be a challenge indeed to find an airframe that doesn't feature Impresa parts and assemblies. In fact, the company plays a critical role in virtually every aerospace platform with 320 team members performing skilled sheet metal hydroforming; complex aluminum, titanium and stainless steel brake forming, and 3-4-5-7 axis machining.
Our three assembly cells utilize skilled labor and managed hardware to incorporate internally produced parts into complex support assemblies — some with as many as 254 details. In addition, our in-house capabilities include the design and production of precision tooling to support our hydroform production cells — including two 12 foot Verson Presses and multiple smaller hydro presses. By controlling multiple production components, we achieve a level of vertical integration which relates directly to quality and on-time deliveries.
Impresa facilities also employ over 48 CNC machining centers, five gantries, four water jets, six CNC Routers, and four turret presses collectively organized in focused factories and flow based cells. All of these resources are in place to support production of over 20,000 different aerospace component parts and assemblies.
Impresa's success and longevity can be attributed to the forward-thinking nature of the management team. Company leadership has proven that it will not hesitate to implement systems, procedures and policies that will keep the company on the leading edge.
Today the company has taken a leadership position regarding Lean Cellular Manufacturing as well as managing the "Human Element." While the first centers on production flow and the later focuses on morale, both contribute considerably to the efficacy and flexibility of production.
Impresa's production upgrades, along with the recent acquisition of our newest facility in Charleston, South Carolina, have positioned the company for rapid growth. Without adding additional facilities or shifts, Impresa's production capacity has increased by 30 to 50%. Poised to meet the future demands of its clients, the company will continue to invest in technology, add production when needed, and pursue future acquisitions.
