Custom EDM was established in 1970 in Carson City, Nevada. Through the years we have evolved into a modern EDM Job Shop, specializing in wire EDM and sinker EDM. We can produce EDM parts of virtually any quantity in a wide range of materials including Copper, Brass, Steel, Carbide, Conductive Ceramics and Graphite. Industries that we have served include Tele-communications, Medical, Automotive, Electronics, Mold Shops, Stamping Houses and other job shops. Although we have competitive capabilities in both close and open tolerance work, we specialize in close tolerance and fine finish work, especially fine finish carbide punches, carbide dies and mold components. We also do EDM threading aka EDM tapping in carbide ,tool steel ,or any other conductive material . Our operators have a combined 60+ years of experience. We are journeyman tool and die makers and EDM specialists with extensive 4-year apprenticeships. Our specialized training has enabled us to target potential design issues before production, which has often saved our business partners materials, expense and time. Our equipment includes Mitsubishi sinker EDM’s, Mitsubishi wire EDM’s and current EDM hole poppers. We have capabilities for working with virtually all softwares, including Esprit 2008 for programming, Solidworks, Autocad and Bobcad. We are also ISO 9001:2000 certified.
