Back in the 1980's and early 1990"s, Bob Scherer was working for a machine shop/electric motor shop in Sioux Falls called Shakstad's. In 1994, Shakstad's wanted to sell off the portion of the machine shop that was reconditioning mill rolls. Bob Scherer took that opportunity and established Scherer Corrugating and Machine in a small shop just outside of Tea, SD. At this time there was only 1-2 part time employees. The business slowly expanded into 3-4 full time employees and a need for a larger facility. We moved into our current location on Mindy St in September 2001. Once we moved into a larger facility, we were able to expand our products and services into what we offer today. After 3 building expansions, and the purchase of an additional building, our facility now covers over 45,000 sqft. We have enjoyed steady business growth and have grown to over 35 employees over the past 20 years.

About Us Royal Plastics, Inc. is a custom injection molder of thermo plastics. We have been in business since April of 1978. In March of 1999 we moved into a new 46,000 sq. ft. facility. We are located at 200 32nd Avenue in Brookings, SD. We have molding machines ranging in size from 50 Ton up to 300 Ton. We have a total of 14 machines, three of which are all electric machines. We can mold parts ranging in size from small gram weights up to 2 pounds. We produce over 1300 different items for over 200 customers in the United States and Canada. We have a full service tool room where we maintain the molds run here. We have the ability to produce new molds as well as do changes on existing molds also.
