Turning, Inc.

Turning, Inc. is a Minnesota corporation, founded in 1980 by Mark and Kristin Kooiker and two other machinists. Blending their backgrounds from the engineering and machining disciplines, they soon built a reputation for innovation and dependability among their small but happy customer base. Though the partners left after a short time, Mark and Kris worked hard to maintain the level of excellence and customer satisfaction that has always been our goal.

Scott Maurer joined the team in 1984 as the lead man in the milling department. To this day, he is a valued, dedicated employee with a wealth of experience as a machinist in prototyping and milling. For twenty years, these three were the driving force behind our success and continued growth in the Minnesota manufacturing community.

In early 2007, Turning underwent its biggest change to date. Mark was ready to retire from the day-to-day obligations of running the business, and Kris stepped up to the plate and took the helm as company President. With Scott remaining in his position as milling department head , this sea change left us with an even greater commitment to teamwork and customer service.

In 2009, we moved into our current Plymouth location to better meet the needs of our customers by streamlining our workspace in order to reduce overhead and cut transit time within the facility, letting us pass the savings of a lean workspace on to our customers.

Since then, Turning has focused on updating our roster of machines so that we can offer the best prices and highest quality parts we can. We are always working to continuously improve our technology and methods in order to continue giving present and future customers the service and reliability they have come to expect from Turning, Inc.

About Us Triaxis LLC is a family operation dedicated to high-tech precision manufacturing and great customer relationships. Dave Nyseth, President, most recently worked for 9 years as the Customer Service Engineer for a major rapid injection molding company. Although he enjoyed the time in rapid prototype molding he wanted to be involved in offering more precision manufacturing capabilities. Previously, Dave worked as a Sr. Project Engineer designing semiconductor industry process equipment, (FSII), and injection molded components and assemblies, (Entegris), where he successfully designed and developed numerous patented products including high-purity silicon wafer shipping and storage and transport cassettes. Previously, in 1984, he founded The Futurestar Corporation of America where he designed, developed and manufactured patented high-purity Teflon flow controls. Also, a previous machining company called Triaxis Design Corporation, incorporated in 1988 which was a machining company dedicated to high purity plastic machined components. Ben Nyseth and Dan Hernandez both earned a Machine Tool Technology Degree in machining from MCTC in Minneapolis, MN and together have over 12 years of programming and machining experience. We all are terminal mechanical geeks who are very happy to have the opportunity to share our enthusiasm and capabilities for precision manufacturing. We are honest and upfront about our manufacturing capabilities and want to work with our customers to provide quality components. We believe customer service and integrity are most important.
