Future Engineering Inc

Swartz Creek, Michigan

Future Engineering, founded in 1988, started with journeyman mold makers as lead designers using AutoCAD, and plastic injection mold design as the primary focus. Future Engineering purchased its first Unigraphics workstation in 1993 and added product design and development to their list of services. This marked the beginning of the synchronous design process - mold builders designing plastic products, and the molds to produce them.

Future Engineering’s portfolio of services continued to grow and the synchronous design process evolved to include machine design, Moldflow analysis, rapid prototyping, program management, and Design & Engineering Consultation. Their supported software platforms had also grown with the additions of Pro-E, Catia, SolidWorks, and Moldflow MPI.

In 1998, Future Engineering successfully completed the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center’s QS-9000 Users Group Program and is currently ISO-9001 compliant.

The last quarter of 2002 found Future Engineering under new ownership. The new (and current) owners were part of the original key employees for Future. The new management team then set out to aggressively develop, diversify, and compete in an international marketplace. In doing so, Future Engineering formed many strategic global alliances to help deliver the best possible product to our customers, at the most economical price, in the shortest amount of time.

4th quarter of 2007 the owners of Future Engineering, in conjunction with one other US company and three Hong Kong partners, formed a Chinese Mold Company called Cosmos Tooling Solutions Company Limited to help provide a low cost solution for tool builds and part production. Cosmos prides itself in providing high quality production molds to numerous fortune 500 customers. Future Engineering manages the mold builds from the US so there is real time information available for our US customers.

With a highly creative design team consistently inventing the technology necessary to mold, manufacture, and design products for a wide spectrum of applications while  maintaining a strong commitment to lean manufacturing, Future Engineering is a 21st century success story in the application of the “art to part” philosophy. Each of our senior staff of mold designers has a minimum of 15 years experience, and a combined yearly total of 140 years experience.
