Hot & Cold Forming: Unlike castings, in which the metal is not heated to a molten state, forgings do not have the incidence of voids, inclusions or other defects. This allows for more accurate machining. Forgings also result in better surfaces which require less finishing and accept plating and conversion coatings well.
