Vaporizer - Made from soldering iron

This RFQ was sourced on www.MFG.com in AUSTRALIA for Product & Package Design

Hello, We are an Australian based company who  currently sell a product based around  the common soldering iron. The final  product is commonly known as a  vaporizer and we have been selling them  since 1996. We are searching for a new manufacturer  of our “vaporizer”. We simply require  your company to copy our existing 12  volt product with the only change  requiring it to be 110 volts.  We sell to the USA market and require  that the final product be suitable for  sale within the USA. We are looking for 1000 pieces the  first year and approximately 2000 or  more the next. We require this product  to be produced in 110 Volt format for  the USA market. Attached is a picture of our current  vaporizer. Basically it’s a 12 volt  soldering iron with a small glass dome  over the top. The soldering iron has a  small metal dish attached which heats  up and vaporizes herbs such as tobacco  with the vapor being released into the  glass dome which is finally inhaled  through the tubing. We are looking for a quote to  manufacturer this product. We are able  to send you the actual product which  you will be able to copy. regards, James Luscombe

Product & Package Design: Package design covers the manufacturing efficiency and feasability as it relates to the design of product packaging. It also takes into consideration the size and weight of the part, the need for protective packaging inserts, the need for water-proofing or corrosion resistance, and the decorative or aesthetic properties of the packaging required. Product design can be defined as the idea generation, concept development, testing and manufacturing or implementation of a product (physical object or service). Product Designers conceptualize and evaluate ideas, making them tangible through products in a more systematic approach. The role of a product designer encompasses many characteristics of the marketing manager, product manager, industrial designer and design engineer. The term is sometimes equated with industrial design.
