Extrusion Die Making: Extrusion is a process in which material, often in billet form, is pushed or drawn through a die to create long objects of a fixed cross-section, for example, tubing or channel. Extrusion may be continuous or semi-continuous (repeatedly producing shorter pieces. Some materials require hot drawing while others may be cold drawn. Extrusion dies are positioned inside of the drawing cavity. They require very strong materials to keep a sharp edge.
