ElectroMagnetic Shock Absorber

This RFQ was sourced on www.MFG.com in USA for Product & Package Design

Patent # us6,405,841 B1 Description:  The hardware resembles a conventional  cylinder/piston shock except that both the piston rod and the cylinder  casing are electrically coiled.  The magnetic fields created from  voltage introduced to these coils result in magnetic resistance  between the rod and the cylinder walls and base.  The degree of resistance  can be lessened or enhanced by decreasing or increasing voltage. Comments: The design is being developed as a resolution to  the A03-212 DOD Solicitation "Hydraulic Actuated Roll Inhibited Active  Suspension for the Army".  The winning quotes will be used in the  application for the initial Phase 1 funding, and the company will be  strongly considered as a main subcontractor for the subsequential Phase ll work .

Product & Package Design: Package design covers the manufacturing efficiency and feasability as it relates to the design of product packaging. It also takes into consideration the size and weight of the part, the need for protective packaging inserts, the need for water-proofing or corrosion resistance, and the decorative or aesthetic properties of the packaging required. Product design can be defined as the idea generation, concept development, testing and manufacturing or implementation of a product (physical object or service). Product Designers conceptualize and evaluate ideas, making them tangible through products in a more systematic approach. The role of a product designer encompasses many characteristics of the marketing manager, product manager, industrial designer and design engineer. The term is sometimes equated with industrial design.
