Post for bumper stop This item was sourced on www.MFG.com as one of the items in an RFQ in USA for Forming Cold forming of a bumper stop post. Approximately 0.312" OD x 0.862" long. Please see drawing for specific dimensions. Buyer has to source this again as our existing supplier is going out of business. This part has a bunch of different processes performed on it. First its cold headed, a knurl is needed at the base and then it has to be drilled and tapped with a 6-32 thread. The critical features are that the thread has to be at least 9/16" deep, the fillet underneath the head (for stress reduction) and the initial thread to ease the insertion of the applicable screws. The application of this part is that its used as "force absorber" on our sliding doors. A 6-32 x 7/8" screw or 1 3/8" shoulder screw is inserted into this piece to anchor the part onto the frame (2 posts per piece). This part takes a lot of force as it stops the door from hitting the case in which it is installed.
