BM Body & Lid This item was sourced on www.MFG.com as one of the items in an RFQ in USA for Welding or Bonding We need to weld a plastic pipe to a plastic lid. Both parts are made of PA 6/6T, melting point of 295 C. The diameter is 45.5 mm and the pipe lenfght is 317 mm, wall thickness 4mm. We need a perfect seal and strength resistance of 68 MPa. We believe that ultrasonic welding may work but we are open to hear sugestions like frictional welding. We will ship the tube and cap from Mexico (UPS/FedEx or other) to chosen company and handle shipping in both directions. Generally, bonding refers to joining of two materials surface-to-surface, in a manner in which one covers the other, as opposed to fastening, where members are joined at a discrete point. Cladding, in which one material covers another entirely and pressure and/or heat is applied to create the bond between them, is a form of bonding. Welding and Brazing are both bonding processes.
