This item was sourced on www.MFG.com as one of the items in an RFQ in USA for Engineering Design
Buyer need assistance designing CAD drawings for multiple
cavity mold for ASTM Test specimens for Tensile and
Elongation (ASTM D638) Flexural modulus (ASTMD790) and
Falling Dart Disk (ASTM D5628) that would allow molding all
three specimens at one time.
Size of specimens needed are:
• ASTM D638: Tensile and Elongation test specimen
(dogbone); bar with side cuts -- approximately 6 5/8" x 3/4"
x 1/8" thick, with a inside cut to 1/2" wide for the
innermost 3"
• ASTM D790: Flexural Modulus test specimen: straight bar
approx 5" x 1/2" x 1/8" thick
• ASTM D5628: Falling Dart Impact test specimen: flat
circle -- 4" diameter and 1/8" thick.

Engineering Design: Engineering design crosses two planes, that of computer aided drafting(CAD), where design programs are used to create the engineering vision of the product. The second is CAD or computer aided machining (CAM). Here machining programs are used to design the best way to make and machine the engineering drawing from CAD.
