2.Are my designs safe?

Yes. Security is of utmost importance to MFG.com because our Buyers trust us to ensure protection of their intellectual property.

You control the distribution of your RFQs, and, ultimately, who sees your drawings. We offer 1st and 2nd level NDA’s so that you know exactly who is requesting permission to view your designs prior to quoting on them. You can approve or deny as you wish.

3.Can I just use a photograph of the article I want to source?

A design, or a drawing with technical details (e.g. tech pack), is necessary when sourcing on MFG.com. You are asking a Supplier to take a look at your RFQ and prepare a reasonable, accurate quote. The only thing a Supplier has to base their quote on is the file you attach to your RFQ. The more detailed your design, the more accurate your quote will be, and the better a Supplier can meet your needs.

4.Are there minimums?

Yes. It depends on what you’re sourcing, but minimums run between 600 and 1,200 pieces.

5.What happens once my designs are submitted?

Once you have uploaded your drawings, it is time to create an RFQ. See our “How-To Create an RFQ” video. Based on the criteria you have selected, your RFQ automatically gets sent to Suppliers that precisely fit the needs you highlighted on your quote, e.g., expertise, credentials. You will receive quotes from Suppliers from the regions you selected. From there, you can begin collaborating on design and pricing. Next, award the job to the Supplier that best meets your needs and monitor your order status. Your design is hosted in your MFG.com Library for the next time you need to source. It’s that fast and easy.

6.Do I need to list a Target Price on my RFQ?

Only if you want to. A target price helps inform the Supplier right from the start what your ideal price is. Some Buyers think this is the best way to go while others think they should leave the target price empty and see what comes in. It’s your choice.

7.What about comparing quotes across FOB, LDP, CIF, etc…?

With MFG.com you can see your quotes in a comparable format so that you can quickly get to a “total landed cost.” You can request quotes from Suppliers under the INCO terms that make the most sense for your business.

8.I am a Supplier. Can I connect directly with the Buyers on MFG.com?

Yes. When you have a paid membership, you work directly with the Buyers that are looking to do business with you. Any quotes you submit go directly to the Buyers and any production business between you and the Buyer happens directly between the two of you.

9.How much is a membership?

Pricing on MFG.com is customizable to your needs. Contact an MFG.com representative for more information.

10.How long can I use my Free Test-Drive account?

That is up to you. The purpose of a Test-Drive is to allow you to determine if MFG.com is right for you and your business. A Test-Drive account allows you to see RFQs that are relevant to you (you do this by setting up your Saved Searches), but does not have visibility to view Buyer contact information or the ability to quote on jobs. After you see the opportunities that are available to you, we are convinced you will want to become an MFG.com member right away.
