Back Shell
Production of a back shell. Mfg. Sched. negotiable.
Approximately 466mm x 140mm x 95mm. Please see drawing for
dimension specifications; however, see below for add’l dwg
info. Buyer is preparing to manufacturing underwater
instrumentation. These instruments will be deployed in
ocean water, fresh water, brackish water. Buyer is
requesting information regarding housing’s to be
manufactured using the SPF process or Deep Drawn. Material
to be 5000 series alum preferably, if possible, due to the
non-corrosive properties. If not, please recommend a
material that has the same non-corrosive properties.
Strength is not an issue as Buyer will be filling these
housings with castor oil, or the like, to handle the
pressure. Buyer attached a couple of draft drawings to use
for quoting purposes. Ignore the Grade 1 Ti material. Also,
since it would be SPF or Deep Drawn, ignore the thicker
dimension of the flange and the welding. The flange can be
2mm thick, or as thick as you can make it, and Buyer can add
stiffeners. Buyer understands and can live with variations
in thickness throughout.
