We are a national catalog company and local retailer of
residential lighting and
rugs located in Richmond, Va. We have designed and
patented the attached item and we
are currently looking for an injection molding manufacture
to mass produce.
Please consider this our RFP with a CAD drawing and
picture attached. The drawing should
give you a good idea on the size and shape of the item. If
you want to bid on this project,
please respond by May 3, 2004. Proposals will not be
accepted after the deadline date.
• Base price on quantity of 1,000 units
• Additional blocks of 5,000 units
• Numbers could exceed 100,000 units over next 2-3
years
• Fixture to be made of durable outdoor plastic
(color/finish to be determined
later from manufactures stock list)
• Lens to be bid separately, made from 2.5
millimeter high impact non yellowing
clear acrylic, suitable for outdoors – virtually
distortion free
• At bottom is a removable sliding drawer which must
slid easily
• Hole from top ring into fixture for electrical
wiring (wiring to be done by Shades
of Light)
• We have metal prototypes of fixture which can be
sent to finalists
• Also have prototype of lens to send finalists
• We are open to suggestions on body construction on
lower costs
Price, as always, is an important consideration. However,
we are not constrained to accept
the low bid. The conformance to specifications,
reliability of supply, meeting deadline and
references are also important factors in our selection.
