iron TEM/PAS disks
Stock material: Pure, single crystal body-centered cubic Iron cylinder with dimensions of ~10mm diameter and ~50mm in length
I would like my samples to be cut via electrochemical machining (ECM). It is crucial that these samples incur the least amount of mechanical damage since I will be conducting transmission electron microscopy on them and specifically looking for damage microstructures created by specific treatments of the specimens that I will carry out following the ECM.
I would like 2 quotes:
(1) The stock material needs to be electrochemically machined to produce disks that are 1.5 mm in thickness (keeping the diameter of 10 mm the same). This should give ~33 samples.
(2) The stock material needs to be electrochemically machined to produce disks that are 1.5 mm in thickness and that have 2 sides that are cut parallel to the z-axis of the crystal giving dimension of 6mm (straight edge) x 10mm (curved edge, this remains uncut). This should give ~33 samples.
A diagram is included in the file attachments as "ECM cutting.doc".
