Mandrel
Tapering cylindrical part 264" overall length with
diameter ranging from 1.24" to 0.61" turned
from 6061 aluminum. Tolerances vary from 0.001" to +/-
0.005".
Part finish should be polish or near polish.
This part is to be used a a mandrel in a composite tube
manufacturing process. The part will
be subjected to repeated thermal cycles at 350°F. The
mandrel can be constructed in
multiple pieces, but fit between parts must be of
sufficient quality to prevent composite part
from sticking. Multiple sections, if used, must be
manchanically joined.
