Tire tool
Can you produce tools with high torque requirements (150
ft lbs max) that are light weight?
We need to produce a tool that is roughly 9 inches in
length and has a spoon type feature on
one end and a 6 point hex wrench on the other end.
I would need several different sizes of
the hex wrench from 17mm up to 32mm.
The attached pics show a product that is very similar to
what I need developed.
This tool is
made from aluminum and only weighs 3 oz. (85 grams)!
It is used to remove 32 mm axle nuts
from motorcycle wheels and doubles as a tire tool for
removal of a tire from the rim.
You will notice that the end that looks like a spoon is
rounded and slightly bent to grip the tire surface
without pinching the inner tube.
The tool must be very strong since axle nuts may require
torque of up to 150 ft lbs and the spoon end must be
strong enough to withstand the
pressures necessary to remove a motorcycle tire from the
rim.
