2.75 Steel Chain
Galvanizing of steel chain. Buyer is sourcing this job
for a military branch. The job requires that mooring
chain be hot dipped galvanized.
These items are:
Approximately 2.75" diameter stud link mooring chain; 270
total feet in three 90 foot
lengths; each length weighs approx. 6500 pounds and is
made up of 97 individual links; each link is app. 16.5"
long and weighs app. 67 pounds
Approximately 2.75" diameter chain joining links; 14 each;
app. 100 pounds each; 16-1/2" long; 11’ wide. These links
look similar to an individual link of chain.
The items are most likely coated with a preservative and
would require sandblasting prior to galvanizing. Once
galvanizing is complete, a topcoat of moisture cure
urethane tar, black, shall be applied over all galvanized
components to 8-mil thickness.
The material is located in MS. If supplier can pick up
the material, please provide a quote for that as well.
