Senior Database Architect

The Senior Database Architect will be responsible for various aspects of database development and ETL processes. This person will also need to have skills in administration and be able to participate in an on-call rotation to be shared between several current DBAs.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Advanced T/SQL skills writing scripts, stored procedures, triggers, etc., and ability to communicate designs effectively, while communicating with people in various regions of the world
  • Will be responsible for writing until tests of all code developed and documenting tests
  • ETL architecture is a must to interact with all of our various data sources and destinations
  • Be able to handle multiple databases, integration of customer data between product db, CRM, and Financial systems, and 3rd party partners
  • Work with developers and business users to define requirements, perform analysis, design, and write implementation plans of maintainable solutions
  • Be able to read and analyze and understand physical and logical database models
  • Be able to work with various team members on project and production related issues, including OLAP, design, scripting, and MDX
  • Be able to work in a fast paced team oriented environment

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 7+ years working as a Sr. Database developer/administrator
  • 2+ years working with an ERP (Navision strongly preferred)
  • 1+ year(s) working architectural knowledge of Java (Preferred) or C#
  • 2+ years Logical Data Modeling (Erwin or similar)
  • Conceptual knowledge of OLAP architecture, and at least 2 years working in OLAP environments with good understanding of architectural pros and cons
  • 1+ year(s) Clustering /High Availability
  • 3+ years ETL, OS/DBMS configuration, Index/Sproc/View tuning
  • BS in comp sci or similar (Masters in MIS preferred)
  • MCDBA or equivalent

Application Support Engineer

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining servers and related applications on the servers which run the MFG.com business. They are also contributors to the parts of technical operations including the helpdesk, and enterprise systems. The position requires an individual who will work under minimal supervision to perform server and application infrastructure maintenance, new system builds, code deployment, and software installs, as well as assist end users with individual issues. The desktop support technician will also assist in IT department projects as his or her skills permit, such as systems administration, new projects, and outage response.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Patch, build, and deploy java code to Redhat Linux systems running Resin Application Server Professional, as well as Microsoft infrastructure
  • Includes Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2007, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and associated high availability services
  • Build and maintain Linux and Windows server environments. Experience with web servers and web applications are a must
  • Understanding of WAN and LAN technologies is necessary to keep the business running in a 24/7 marketplace. Working with a global team is necessary to ensure the best services for our customers
  • Knowledge of load balancer is necessary, and F5 BigIP experience is a big plus
  • Storage experience is a plus, especially Netapp systems. Implementation and management of NAS (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI) is a requirement
  • Monitor and manage backup systems using Backup Exec for Sharepoint, SQL Server, Linux, Windows, and NDMP
  • Maintain a positive, proactive, and open relationship with every customer within the organization. Must be able to leverage this relationship to ensure a polished, rounded image of the IT department. Must be able to maintain this positive attitude regardless of the attitude of the customer, or any other factors that may be in effect at the time
  • The ability to put together RFOs (Reason for Outage), and help communicate issues and time to resolution to the business
  • The ability to speak to business users and translate business requirements into technical requirements is necessary
  • Support and fill user requests and complaints with their PCs and phones. Contact management for assistance when needed
  • Respond to user issues in a prompt manner
  • Assign all user issues tickets in the help desk system and assign proper priorities
  • Maintain all tickets in the helpdesk ticketing system and keep open tickets updated regularly
  • All other duties as assigned by the manager on a case by case basis

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Well experienced with Windows XP and Vista based environments
  • Working knowledge of Exchange 2007, Active Directory, Server 2003/2008, SharePoint Server
  • SQL experience on Microsoft SQL Server is a plus
  • Understanding of Linux operating system and some skill set on Linux like operating systems
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • A+/MCP Certification good to have
  • Limited knowledge PBX Phone Systems
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet topologies, Basic network diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Technical Customer Relations Specialist

The Technical Customer Relation Specialist will provide a computer technical support service to MFG.com Buyers and Suppliers by performing the following functions. This position will also have basic customer service responsibilities when not handling Computer Technical issues.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Interact with customers by phone (inbound and outbound calls), e-mail, live chat and instant messaging to provide customer service and support for advanced computer related issues.
  • Develop tip sheets for the customer service staff to utilize when handling repeated request for duplicate issues.
  • Have a full understanding of the MFG.com application and how it is designed to operate so you can identify the difference between a performance problem or enhancement request
  • Log all application bugs into the ticketing system, checking for duplicates and offering possible work around.
  • Welcome new users of the MFG.com system and provide orientations of website functionality and operation
  • Log all customer interactions in CRM system
  • Follow up on all outstanding customer support issues to resolution
  • Effectively manage difficult or emotional customer situations and escalate as appropriate
  • Respond promptly to customer requests for service, support and/or assistance
  • Successfully operate multi-line phone system, live chat, instant messaging and navigate the Internet
  • Communicate effectively with customers using both verbal and/or written mediums
  • Stay informed on the open RFQs in our market place so you can identify opportunities for suppliers
  • Remain familiar with the types of products that new buyers will be sourcing in our market place and any special requirements they may have

Sales Intern

Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Representative’s primary role is to call sales prospects in order to qualify the prospect, describe the product, generate interest, and schedule sales appointments that are expected to convert to sales at rates higher than historical rates

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Call pre-qualified sales leads to qualify the prospect, describe the MFG.com product(s) and generate interest in an appropriate Mfg.com subscription
  • Document calls, track results of calls, and schedule appointments and follow-up items utilizing company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM)/Sales Force Automation (SFA) system
  • For qualified, interested supplier prospects:
    • Create a customized Test Drive in the MFG.com application
    • Create an MFG Profile by uploading appropriate information and images from the prospect’s web site
    • If customer is ready to buy on initial contact, make sale
    • Schedule sales appointment for the Supplier sales reps
  • For qualified, interested buyer (CS) prospects:
    • Schedule sales appointments for CS Sales reps
    • Sell CS over the phone when applicable
  • Document and analyze process and techniques and generate appropriate recommendations for improvements
  • Develop reporting mechanism to measure success of the role and generate appropriate recommendations for improvements
  • The number of calls made, prospects qualified, sales appointments scheduled and resulting sales conversion rates are subject to review against targets set periodically by management

Buyer Lead Generation Specialist

The Buyer Lead Generation Specialist primary role is to cold call buyer prospects for the marketplace in order to qualify the prospect and verify contact information, generate interest in using our marketplace, and schedule follow-up appointments for the account manager. This position will also be responsible for obtaining other contacts inside of the same organization. Opportunity for advancement is based on performance.
