What is Stamp Die Making?


Stamping dies are common to all sheet metal operations. Blanking dies, compound dies, and progressive dies, for example, are stamping dies. Stamping dies are composed of top and bottom dies. Depending on the specific operation, the top die may be a simple tool like a punch. Stamping dies are often built to allow the part to drop out of the bottom of the die when finished.
