The BrainBall is a therapeutic exercise tool developed to enhance strength, balance, and hand-eye coordination. When integrated into a strength training routine, the BrainBall combines fine motor skill requirements together with large motor unit activation, which results in the stimulation and production of healthy brain cells. The BrainBall can be used to incorporate sport specific movements as well as movements that mimic requirements of everyday living. Recent studies in brain function and brain degeneration have shown that hand-eye exercises as well as coordination exercises performed by both the dominant and non-dominant hand, stimulate blood flow to the brain which provides a restorative effect on both brain condition and function. (1) The BrainBall has rehabilitative, therapeutic, and general exercise utility, and can be employed as a rehabilitative aid developed for the purpose of working with seniors and special needs individuals (i.e, parkinson's, stroke victims, alzheimers, etc.) as well as improving functionality to the healthy population. The BrainBall is an exercise tool designed to be used with a coordinated and specifically structured exercise program that incorporates movement, balance and coordination.
