This part is a test cutout pattern, in copper, silver, or gold sheet stock, thickness .020". The resulting output from this process is: outlined shapes (in this case letters), and all remaining stock material is returned to the customer.

The parts are laser cut from the sheet stock material with a laser system that can cut metals. The part cut outline is specified in Abobe Illustrator format but can be output in any required vector format for vendor.

The main sheet cutout dimensions are 6 x 2". The accuracy requirement is +-.001" and aggregate offset of less than .005".

This part will initially ONLY be CUT OUT, but later products of this type will need mixed engraving and removal/cut-out.

This part is specified as a process approval deliverable, used to approve laser cutting facilities for further laser cutting projects, involving other outlines.

RFQ Notes:

This RFQ is for laser cutting of silver sheet, on an outline provided in the part files.

This RFQ is for a specific part, but will be used as an acceptance lot to approve a preferred vendor for regular items of this type. These future orders will include the cutting of sheet stock from fine silver, sterling silver, gold, and copper materials. Each new lot of 1, 2, or more sheets will include a different outline file, so please quote including file conversion and checking procedures on your part. Future parts will have the same amount or less cutting inches for the laser to traverse.

Added value is given to vendors who can laser cut intricate shapes and also engrave (ablate) fine metal sheet in the same pass with the same data file(s). This RFQ refers to a part with ONLY cuts, but future parts at a higher price might need engraving in addition to cut-out.

RFQ requires conversion and work to occur within two weeks in normal mode, and we can negotiate an express cost for quicker turn-around

CUSTOMER TO PROVIDE SHEET STOCK MATERIAL FOR ALL JOBS, AND REQUIRES ALL CUT OUT AND REMAINING MATERIALS TO BE RETURNED IN SAME SHIPMENT.
