Bedplate
We are an Australian company. We design and build special purpose machinery, mostly associated with the automotive and aerospace industries.
(1) We have a need for 4 identical bedplates
(2) Size each = (L)4.5 m x (W)3.5 m x (H)0.2 m )
(3) Material = cast iron
(4) Design = we have not a drawing yet, but each casting will be a plate 50 mm thick, supported by gussets that criss-cross below at a pitch of 500 mm, thickness 20 mm, the four sides will be 30 mm (before machining). There will be 6 jacking points per plate.
(5) Finished machining = each plate will be designed to bolt to the other to form a single bedplate of 18 m long and 3.5 m wide and 200 mm high. Each bedplate will be machined on 5 sides (that excludes only the bottom) to a flatness of 0.1 mm over 2 mm. on the top surface (4.5 x 3.5) will be holes, drilled and tapped M12, on a pitch of 100 x 100, positional tolerance of 0.1 mm. all five surfaces will be ground finished to roughness of N5.
