Production of a 3/4" pigmented rod. Buyer is looking for a
company willing to crosshead extrude silicone exhibiting superior resistance to tracking, weather, and UV rays onto 20 ft lengths of 3/4" fiberglass rod. The coating material needs to form a waterproof bond with the fiberglass core and should be roughly 1/16" thick. The
assemblies will be used for insulation on power lines, so
the coating material must display strong electrical
resistance, especially to tracking and erosion, and outdoor
functionality.
EDIT: Discussed product with my boss further, and he is requiring the coating to be crosshead extruded silicone.
