Univenture
Ross O. Youngs founded Univenture in 1988 to invent and manufacture innovative media packaging solutions for corporate customers in the US and abroad. Ross's educational background had exposed him to environmental science and industrial engineering. Combined with extensive work experience in the engineering of optical and videodiscs, he invented an exciting, new package for compact discs that not only protects the discs but also conserves resources.
Ross received a US Patent in July 1989 for the innovative Safety-sleeve® design. The product was an immediate success and the company surpassed $1 million in sales in 1991. Univenture moved to a larger facility in 1994 and started one of the first packaging manufacturers' web sites.
Univenture has received numerous industry awards and accolades for its constant innovation, commitment to its customers and its sales growth. The company has repeatedly been listed on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies and Ross Youngs has been named Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration and Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young. In October of 2002 the UniKeep® innovation was honored by Modern Plastics as one of the best-designed products for 2002
