About Us
History
UMA founder Tom McChesney has 29 years experience as a machinist with a significant amount of this time assisting medical device manufacturers with development and improvement of their devices.
This experience helped Tom recognize the market need and opportunity for a machine shop focused on partnering with device manufacturers to develop and improve their devices and produce prototypes, one-ups and pre-production parts.
As a result, Tom founded UMA Precision Machining; it all started with one machine in his garage.
In 10 short years, UMA has grown rapidly - moving into new facilities and expanding to add new technology, talented staff and state-of-the-art manufacturing systems.
Today, with expanded capability, UMA is well positioned to meet the growing needs of our customers.
Philosophy
Our culture is customer focused - offering high end service and unsurpassed project turn-around time, advanced technology for precision work and a focus on quality - assuring consistent performance for the most demanding applications.
