R & L Machine Shop Inc. has been in business since 1965. We specialize in CNC milling, CNC turning, and CNC waterjet cutting. We supply quality workmanship at a competitive price. Over the last 40 years we have developed many long lasting relationships with companies and individuals in and around the Tidewater area. Some of the industries we currently provide machining services to are, the military, aerospace, food handling equipment, and the printing industry. We also make heat exchanger components, electric motor components, and pump and compressor components. We are well equipped for low to medium run production work with modern CNC equipment as well as being capable of performing emergency jobs on a single part basis. The CNC waterjet table is 6 ft. x 10 ft and capable of cutting up to 7 inches thick in nearly any material. All Types of Stainless steel, aluminum, titanium and other hard to machine materials seem to be the most economical to cut on the waterjet machine. The process does not introduce stress or leave a heat affected zone in the material. We use Feature Cam and Smart Cam software for programming the waterjet and all other CNC equipment; we can take your .dxf files and turn them into parts quickly and accurately. Our quality assurance conforms to ANSI/ASQC 9002-1994; we will supply you with C.O.C.'S, Inspection Reports, and material certifications upon request.
