Palmer Machine Company
Palmer Machine was started in 1985 in a basement in Tamworth, New Hampshire. Michael Palmer, founder and president, combined his machining skills and design engineering training to offer high-quality precision machining and turn-key manufacturing solutions. The small company soon attracted a loyal group of customers and began adding equipment and personnel to keep up with demand. By 1990, Palmer Machine had outgrown the basement and moved into its current facility in Conway, New Hampshire.
If you ask Michael Palmer for a business philosophy, he will tell you to “go with the flow.” This may sound somewhat casual for a business philosophy, but it’s not. At Palmer Machine, going with the flow means meeting, and even anticipating, the needs of our customers. It means adding equipment and growing the business in response to changing requirements. It means providing an up-to-the-minute manufacturing solution, tuned to your needs, when you need it. It has been our business philosophy from the beginning, and that is why Palmer Machine today offers such a wide variety of precision machining options. Our facilities include: High-Production Swiss-Type CNC Turning & Milling, Super-Precision Horizontal & Vertical CNC Machining, Grinding, Lapping, Honing and a full complement of supporting manual mills & lathes. This production equipment is backed up by our quality assurance department with state-of-the-art optical and mechanical computerized measuring capabilities.
Today, in addition to offering reliable, high-quality precision machining, Palmer Machine provides you with complete, turn-key tooling and manufacturing solutions. Our extensive design engineering experience, combined with our powerful UGS-based CAD/CAM system, gives Palmer Machine the edge for all of your specialized tooling and mechanical assembly requirements. “Think of us as a full-service precision machining company and a high-tech design engineering firm rolled into one,” says Michael Palmer. “Bring us your manufacturing challenges, and we’ll provide an innovative, cost-effective solution.”
