P & S Machine Inc

From it’s humble beginnings in a 3800 sq. ft. building in 1965, P & S Machine, Inc. has grown to be one of the largest and most modern, fully equipped fab and machine shops in the Big Horn Basin of central Wyoming. (It’s that BIG square state just south of Montana and North of Colorado!) Housed in over 16,000 sq ft. of space, this progressive shop offers a range of services seldom found in one location.

The fabrication end of the business is equipped with two sheet and plate shears with capacities from 20 ga. sheet up to ½” plate. The near new 230 ton Cincinnati 12’ long computerized press brake makes fast and accurate work of sheet and plate bending up to 3/8” thick. A sheet and plate roll and a 60 ton Scotchman hydraulic ironworker add to our capabilities as do our digital Miller MIG welders, plasma cutters, TIG welder, and weld positioners. Drill presses, pipe and square tubing bender, bolt and pipe threader, abrasive belt grinder, abrasive blast cabinet, band saws, and pattern torch round out our fabrication equipment list.

The machining end of the business includes a fully equipped manual machine shop with lathes ranging in capacity from 12” X 40” to 20” X 100” along with a 10” X 54” vertical mill. The Daewoo Puma 300L CNC turning center and Haas VF8 CNC vertical machining center give us the ability to handle the larger turning and milling projects with speed and accuracy.

All the equipment in the world means nothing without skilled and experienced craftsmen to run it. Our core group of four employees has over 100 years of experience in the trade. We pride ourselves in performing a job with old school work ethic and skill and never use the words “good enough”. It’s just not something we believe in.

Owner/Manager Kurt Piel took the business over with his wife Meridee as sole owners in 1984 when Kurt’s father passed away. (Meridee is the nice, pleasant lady that will usually answer your phone calls) Kurt had worked with his father since his early teens and became part owner of the business with his father in 1975. We pride ourselves in being a “mom and pop” operation small enough to know many of our customers, some of them third generation, on a personal basis and yet large enough to compete with the big shops, near and far, and many times our size. We’ve been doing it with pride and integrity since 1965, serving the agricultural, industrial, and energy communities!
