Graphicast specializes in rapid turnaround manufacturing of precision castings. Graphicast uses a unique graphite permanent mold process to produce castings of ZA 12, a zinc aluminum alloy. ZA 12 was developed as an engineering alloy that provides excellent mechanical properties and high quality surface finishes. Graphicast's capabilities include in-house CAD design, prototyping using sterolithography or CNC prototyping using ZA12, moldmaking, a proprietary low turbulence casting process, CNC machining centers, automated tool setting, automated CMM, light assembly, and finishing (plating and painting). Turnaround time, from approved CAD model to first production, is typically 6 to 8 weeks. Repeat production run lead times of 5 weeks. Economical volumes range from 200 to 20,000 parts per year.
