Clinch River Casting

We have been in business for over 10 years, with most of our employees having over 10+ years of experience. The owner is still heavily involved in the business and has over 40 years foundry experience.

We serve numerous industries, including but not limited to:

Machine Tool and Specialty components – Machine Frames, Machine Bases, Spindle housings, Bearing Housings, and Sprockets

Fossil Fuel Power Plant Castings – Pipes, Pipe Adapters, and Clinker Grinder parts

Asphalt and Mining – Mixer Tips, Shanks, and Wear Plates

Our primary specialty is abrasion resistant iron. We pour Ni-Hard and a low nickel and carbon White Iron for use in wear applications such as Asphalt mixers, Pug Mills, and Pipes and Deflectors for Pneumatic conveyors. We are a 100% No Bake Sand Foundry, using mainly wood patterns for mold making. We pour several classes of Cast Iron, three classes of Ductile Iron 60-40-18, 65-45-12, and 80-55-06, Abrasion resistant Iron, ASTM A-532 CL – 1A (Ni-Hard) and Specialty Alloys by Customer Request. Casting weights range from less than 1 pound to 1300 pounds.

Some of the Equipment we employ are:

Inductotherm Power Trak Induction Melting Furnaces – 700 lbs and 1300 lbs Coreless

Strong Scott – 500 lbs/min Sand Mixer

Wheelabrator – 72” Table Blast Machine

In terms of software, we use Microsoft office and AutoCAD. We can accept and view most any CAD file. We can duplicate or reverse engineer castings from an existing casting or drawing and we can help our customer’s prototype. We can provide inspection reports including chemical and physical analysis of specific heats. Other reports are available per customer request.

Often customers require assistance in designing castings for better performance and castability. We offer guidance in selection of the best alloy for the customer’s application.

For example, we recently had a new customer come to us with proposed casting designs for wear liners in a centrifuge. The customer requested that we quote new tooling and castings for this new product. Time was critical because they had tried to work with other foundries and were unable to get the requested quote after several weeks. After reviewing the drawings we made several suggestions to improve the castability and functionality of the parts. After the design changes were discussed and the drawings revised we submitted a quote within a week and received an order.

We can provide, through outsourcing, new patterns, heat treating, painting, machining, and provide all freight arrangements for our customers. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you are your next project. Thanks!
